My first year with my new SxS and I saw this event pop up in the beginning of the year in 2023. I thought wow, that might be a fun trip. I missed the date by a couple weeks and contacted the organizers — they allowed me to join late. I went with a buddy who rode it a few years ago with his quad. AMAZING adventure, well organized, perfectly planned out rides with locals who knew every square inch of each trail. The food was fantastic, the sack lunches put on by the local school as a fundraiser were great, the auction and the new friends we met and had so much fun riding with and socializing with each night — everything could not be better than this event. Best thing I did all year. It really helps out the community and local schools as well. You will not be disappointed!
I stumbled on this in 2010 when a friend invited me — we had the best time, met new friends and went off-roading on great adventurous trails. That year, and well actually many years since, we had beautiful views with snowcapped mountains… it can be breathtaking!! We crossed several water crossings, had lunch at a neat old miners’ cabin, we’ve seen seriously cool old cemeteries, and of course Bodie Ghost Town. It’s an off-roader’s dream — I love Bodie, you will too, plus you get to drive your off-road vehicle right to it!!! We have been over 11,000 ft on Mt. Patterson and traversed Indian Canyon, been to numerous cowboy encampments, seen several old mines and lots of old mining equipment. Wildlife! Last year alone we saw deer, wild mustangs, and several large birds of prey! I’m excited to go back again this year, see some old friends, and make some new ones. I can’t tell you exactly how many events I’ve attended here — I bet 12 or more. I hope I’ve got several more Eastern Sierra Jamborees in me still! Come find me… I’ll have a big smile and dirt in my teeth. Hope to see you there!
My first Eastern Sierra Jamboree was in 2013, I have attended 8 Jamborees since then, with my last one in 2024. I love riding! I found the Jamboree staff well organized, friendly, knowledgeable and inviting. The options for rides are many, with rides geared for all experience levels. The quality of the rides are second to none, as well as the ever changing scenery which is the best. Meeting new people and the camaraderie amongst the riders is an added bonus. The value for the Jamboree you can’t beat — a hearty breakfast before the ride, if you leave hungry, it’s your fault. They have options to purchase lunches for the trail, which is a fundraiser for different groups. They have dinners at night for you to get out and socialize with other riders and talk about the day’s events. The organizers truly care about the riders and that you have a good memorable time, truly like family and a great family outing! I recommend the ESJ as a great family outing, the organizers have thought of everything for this event, they treat you like family! I will be coming back!
Wow! This jamboree is so fun! I’ve been riding in this for the past 5 years. It’s extremely well organized, which makes a huge difference in the entire experience. Great rides, great guides, and it’s been really fun meeting and making new friends.
I had the best time. Folks were great, food was outrageous, the coordination and organization superb — and being escorted by the highway patrol to the trailhead just added to it. There are a few rules, probably more than normal, but they’re usually for a good reason. I had a little bit of trouble with that, so I just changed my perspective. Great time, can’t wait to go again!
